Somali militants have killed 36 non- Muslim quarry workers near the northern Kenyan town of Somalia. Sources say the attackers began by separating non Muslims from Muslims before shooting the Non Muslims. This is the same area were Al-Shabab killed non Muslims on a bus last week
The concern for security is beginning to grow in Kenya especially in regions bordering Somalia. Witnesses say the victims were attacked after mid-night in their sleep. According to BBC  a driver who visited the scene of the attacks mentioned that most of they seemed to have been lined up and shot in the head at close range. 4 of them were beheaded while 3 appeared to have escaped to Mandera Town.
Mandera borders both Somalia and Ethiopia and it is dominated by Somalis who are largely Muslims.
